Taxes and Job Growth
Florida's economy depends on quality job creation. I believe that lower taxes encourage job creation and stimulate our economy. That is why this past Legislative Session I supported and helped to pass incentives to help businesses grow and hire workers, including providing tax relief to over 15,000 small businesses. I have supported multiple bills in Tallahassee to reduce tax burdens on companies and individuals and I will continue to fight in Tallahassee to reduce taxes and do my part to help create jobs for our district.

The Role of Government
In the past few years, we have experienced an increase in the government's role in our private lives and our businesses. I believe that our government should stay out of both and that we perform best as a nation when our entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged. I believe the role of government should be limited and focused.

Our Education System
As a father of two daughters, I recognize the importance of ensuring that all students receive a quality education. Making sure that our local public schools continue to provide the best possible education is one of our most important jobs as state legislators. We must fight for music and art programs that have been under attack the past several years and fight to pay our educators appropriately.

We must work hard to empower and educate parents that the job of educating our children is not the school systems' alone. Parents must take an active role in the responsibility of educating their children.

Property Insurance
High property insurance rates are a serious problem for Floridians. I believe meaningful, consumer friendly insurance reform is possible and I look forward to advocating for the consumer again during our next legislative session.

In 2011, I put forth legislation that would help keep our property insurance market solvent and alleviate some of the burden on property owners. I am dedicated to working toward reforming Citizen's Insurance into one that will truly work to lower Florida's windstorm insurance coverage. I promise to continue to fight on our behalf since Floridians desperately need relief from soaring insurance rates.
